Oceano California

Oceano Real Estate

Oceano is part of the beautiful Central Coast of California mid-way between Los Angeles and San Fransisco. It is the entrance to the Pismo State Park Recreation Area drive-on beach. Oceano real estate varies with affordable homes for sale and ">beachfront luxury homes. There is golfing and beach access in Oceano as well.

Area Information
In Oceano, people, horses, vehicles and ATVs (all-terrain vehicles) all share the same beach. Driving on the beach is unheard of in California, but on the Central Coast it is a very popular activity. The Oceano Dunes is a unique place where you can take campers to camp on the beach, cars and all-terrain vehicles out in the dunes, lay in the sand and sunbath, ride your bike or horse on the beach, kite surf -- anything your heart desires for an excursion on the sand in the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area.

The Oceano sand dunes area is recognized as the most extensive coastal dunes remaining in California. There is agriculture, businesses and tourists when visiting the beach town which has gained a reputation for its wonderful weather and beach recreation. Highlights of the small region on the ocean include Oceano Airport, a small craft airport near the beach and a cute Rock and Roll Diner made out of a train car which is decorated in the theme of the 1950s.

Visitor Information
Open all year round, Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area has 1,500 acres featuring beach and sand dune riding. Thousands of off-highway vehicle enthusiasts enjoy the beach dunes. It is a motorcycle, four-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicle, and dune buggy use area.
